Kent Sheasley, Master of the R/V Neil Armstrong, guides the ship serenely to the WHOI dock at the end of a cruise. The Armstrong, owned by the Navy and operated by WHOI, made six “science verification” cruises in the first half of 2016, allowing seagoing scientist to become familiar with the new research vessel’s spaces and its capabilities and systems.
