Steady Hands

WHOI engineers Mike Jakuba (left) and Molly Curran steady the Nereid Under Ice (NUI) hybrid remotely operated vehicle as it is loaded onto R/V Tioga in September for trials off the coast of Provincetown. A team conducted shallow-water testing to demonstrate the vehicle’s capability to operate miles from its support ship while remaining under real-time human control.
