Love That Dirty Water

Meltwater carrying finely ground glacial till is visible from the air as researchers prepare to deploy instruments into a West Greeenland fjord by helicopter. WHOI physical oceanographer Fiamma Straneo led a team that included glaciologist Sarah Das and engineer Hanu Singh in an effort to pilot a robotic surface vessel close to the edge of the ice in order to map water conditions in the fjord and meltwater conduits in the face of the glacier.
