Postdoctoral Scholar Hojung You joins WHOI's PO Department. Hojung earned her PhD in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Hojung's research interests are Turbulence, Microplastic and larvae transport, and Particle-sediment interaction. She is collaborating with Claudia Cenedese, Jesus Pineda and Houshuo Jiang to study the transport of microplastics and larvae in the intertidal zone, with a particular focus on the deposition and accumulation of particles in seafloor sediments through laboratory experiments. In her free time, Hojung enjoys swimming, planning weekend getaways and relaxing with a good book in bed.
