A new lab tool for animal research

WHOI Biologist Michael Moore working with the International Fund for Animal Welfare Marine Mammal Rescue and Research Team prepare to examine a gray seal that was found dead in Wellfleet Mass, on December 17th 2008. The team is looking for clues as to why the animal stranded on the beach. A recently acquired medical ultrasound system is being tested, and showed that the animal was pregnant. A visiting group of National Ocean Science Bowl high school students look on.
