Arctic summer night

Midnight in Greenland, in the summer, means the sun still shines. “For recent arrivals, the round-the-clock daylight streaming in the hotel windows have wreaked havoc on our internal clocks,” wrote photographer Chris Linder, who made his first trip to the Arctic island to document WHOI researchers working on the ice sheet for a web site called Polar Discovery. “Last night, while working on the computer, I closed the blinds to keep the sunbeams off of my laptop screen (and also to keep from getting distracted by the sight of fishing boats gliding through the golden light and icebergs).”
