Flying high

An aerial view of Canada’s Mackenzie River Delta, where marine
geochemists Tim Eglinton, Daniel Montluçon, and geologist Liviu Giosan are looking
for clues to past climate change. During 2009 Spring field work, the team retrieved
sediment cores from 22 deltaic lakes to
study possible changes in sedimentation patterns that could be due to a melting
of the permafrost in the high Arctic.
