Mom Always Said to Bundle Up
April 6, 2008The Clothing Distribution Center of the U.S. Antarctic Program in New Zealand provides one-stop shopping for polar explorers. If you are going south on their watch, then you are going to go warm. The friendly New Zealand staff filled two bright-orange duffel bags with super-heavyweight socks, fleece underwear, four kinds of gloves, three types of mittens, and a parka. The hard part was trying it one comfortably in the 75-degree weather and fierce Southern Hemisphere’s summer sunshine.
