Never Turn Your Back on the Ocean

Mai huli ‘oe I kokua o ke kai!

This Hawaiian proverb, meaning “never turn your back on the ocean” was popularized by Olympic swimmer and surfer Duke Kahanamoku. It has reminded generations to be vigilant around unpredictable ocean waves and have respect for the ocean. What does it mean to you?
