Summer is for Students

Each summer, undergraduates from colleges and universities around the world come to WHOI to learn more about ocean science in the Summer Student Fellowship Program. This year, 30 rising seniors spent 10-12 weeks in WHOI labs, getting exposure to a variety of oceanographic research topics and questions. Each student works with a WHOI scientist or engineer on a project, then presents his/her findings at the end of the summer. The students also spent a day on R/V Tioga, learning how to use oceanographic instruments. Applications for 2015 will be accepted starting in November.(Photo by Jayne Doucette, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
