Tour and Telepresence

After the August 2016 Ocean Worlds 2 Meeting, some of the attending space and ocean scientists stayed to tour parts of WHOI, hosted by senior scientist Chris German. In the Laboratory for Ocean Sensors and Observing Systems (LOSOS), they heard about WHOI’s work in the National Science Foundation’s Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI). Here, in the Coleman and Susan Burke Operations Room of the LOSOS facility, the group participates in a telepresence interview with University of Rhode Island (URI) oceanographer Bob Ballard (on-screen), hosted by Clara Smart and Nicole Raineault (far right) from URI.
