All pictures and content are 2003 copyright of Marshall Swartz, Falmouth, MA.

Below is a front view of the genset with the stainless steel cover off.  Note the run-time hour meter has replaced the 12-vdc breaker, and is powered directly from the 12-vdc genset output.  A new automatically resetting 12vdc 8 amp breaker has been installed inside the cover.  Dual banana jacks to provide the 12-vdc output are mounted to the lower right of the L5-30A AC socket.

Detail views of the electric choke solenoid.  Solenoid was chosen for voltage, current demand, armature pull-in strength, throw distance and size.  I found a new but obsolete AMF/Potter Brumfield solenoid which met the specifications.  The solenoid is attached to a mounting bracket I fabricated to attach to the existing Honda choke lever mounting plate.  Green gasket faces carburetor intake.  All hardware is stainless steel.

The picture below shows the detail of the thermal cutout fuse (105 deg C) installed in series with the solenoid coil to prevent burnout or overheat if accidentally left energized.

Closeup image below shows the solenoid and linkage assembly as installed in the EU3000.   The black object in the upper part of photo is the fuel tank.

Below is the view of the genset remote control mounted inside the Bambi.   It has two switches:  to the right is the main control switch, a 10 amp DPDT (momentary on)-(off)-(momentary on) rocker switch.  To the left is the choke control switch, a (momentary on)-(off) 10 amp rocker switch.   The red light is a 12-vdc LED powered from the 12-vdc output of the genset.  Extra space to the left on the remote control is provided for future genset battery voltmeter.  The remote is connected to the genset via an 8-conductor 16-AWG cable.  This cable is disconnected at the genset with an 8-pin marine grade connector.
