Matlab Users Group (MUG)

History
The MUG was established in 1998 as an avenue for sharing Matlab solutions to oceanographic number crunching issues.   Often code is needed to do a computation that someone else MUST have already written, and the MUG became a way of querying the WHOI/USGS/MBL community about how they coded a solution to a particular problem.  In discussing various methods of solving the same problem, the group also plays an educational role.  In the first year, monthly meetings were held, but now the primary means of communication is the email list.

To unsubscribe : At present there is no archive listing of the emails sent or FAQ.  We hope to make this service available to users soon.  Watch this space for updates.  In the meantime, the WHOI Matlab newsgroup is a good palce to look for solutions to Matlab questions.

Local Courses and Seminars
Sometimes WHOI offers classes in Matlab programming on site.   They ordinarily meet once or twice a week for up to six weeks.  The Information Technology Group seminar schedule often includes topics of interest to Matlab users.  They meet Tuesdays at noon in the Smith conference room in Woods Hole.
