Thanksgiving Away from Home

Thanksgiving Away from Home

November 23, 2017

At sea, traditions that speak of home and loved ones take on greater meaning. In 1952, Capt. John Pike carved a Thanksgiving turkey in the wardroom aboard the research vessel Atlantis during a cruise from Trinidad to Bermuda. Whether you are at sea or on shore, at home or far away this holiday, WHOI wishes you a happy Thanksgiving. (Photo courtesy of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Archives)
