Meeting JetYak

WHOI volunteer Anne-Marie Runfola explained a JetYak to visitors at the Woods Hole Science Stroll this summer. JetYak is an inexpensive, reliable vehicle that operates autonomously or remotely and can carry a wide and growing range of oceanographic sensors. WHOI engineers Peter Traykovski and Hanu Singh designed it to help scientists work in places that are too shallow or turbulent for an autonomous underwater vehicle, such as coastal waters.
