Before the Flood

Before the Flood

November 8, 2016

WHOI climate science takes our researchers all over the globe. In Greenland, they are working to understand how the island’s two mile-thick ice sheet is disappearing. If it melts completely, it would raise global sea level by 23 feet (7 meters), drowning large expanses of coastal regions. To raise awareness of these and other changes occurring worldwide, WHOI and the Woods Hole Film Festival are presenting a community screening of the National Geographic documentary “Before the Flood” at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, in Redfield Auditorium. After the screening, WHOI scientists will lead a discussion and answer climate questions. Entrance is free, but seats are limited—you must register to attend.
