PO’s 2022 Summer Student Fellows

Audrey Grimes (she/her) is studying physics with minors in environmental studies and mathematics at Middlebury College in Vermont. This summer, she will be working with Anthony Kirincich looking at offshore wind data from lidar systems to characterize the wind resource in the Cape Cod area. In her free time, Audrey loves running (she is on the cross country and track team at Middlebury), swimming, hiking and anything outside. She also plays the piano and enjoys listening to music.
Alexis (she/her) Mullen comes to WHOI from Bowdoin College, where she is studying Earth and Oceanographic Science and Dance. This summer she is collaborating with Viviane Menezes to study the circulatory pathways of Red Sea Overflow Waters into and out of the Indian Ocean. In her free time she enjoys being outside in nature, dancing, and reading.

Nimrod Rozen (he/him) is working towards a combined major in chemistry and ocean sciences with a minor in remote sensing and GIS at the University of Victoria, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. This summer, Nimrod will be working with Irina Rypina, Alison Macdonald, and Sachiko Yoshida on a project dealing with the statistical analysis of ARGO float trajectories in the Pacific Ocean to investigate large scale transport pathways. In his spare time Nimrod enjoys spending as much time as possible in the outdoors and experimenting with new techniques for film photography.
Ashley Schefler (she/her) comes to WHOI from Haverford College, where she is a physics major with an environmental studies minor and a biophysics concentration. This summer, Ashley will be working with Caroline Ummenhofer studying interactions between Hadley cells in the atmosphere and oxygen minimum zones in the ocean. In her spare time, Ashley plays dungeons and dragons, reads, hikes, and does improv comedy!
