The library is embracing spooky season and will screen a production of the surreal eco-thriller Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead for October’s installment of Theater Thursdays. Based on Olga Tokarczuk’s acclaimed novel, the story follows Janina Duszejko, an environmentalist who suspects the animals in her secluded Polish village of being involved in the mysterious deaths of local hunters. Part murder mystery, part modern day eco fable, this production explores themes of mortality, environmentalism, and feminism. This staging was recorded live at the The Lowry Theatre in Manchester and will be screened at the library on Thursday, October 17, at 6 p.m.
