Lunchtime, with bears

Lunchtime, with bears

January 18, 2009

Polar Discovery photographer Chris Linder was just about to eat lunch aboard the Swedish research vessel Oden in the Arctic Ocean, when polar bears were sighted and he ran for his camera. Said Linder: “Goldilocks wouldn’t dare to sleep in these guys’ beds-and not only because their beds are too cold. Where there’s ice, there will be polar bears, or ice bears, as Scandinavians call them. This trio-a mother and two cubs-was spotted on the port side just around noon.” Linder reported that his lunch got cold.
