Up Close and Personal with Alvin

Craig Dickson, second mate for the research vessel Atlantis, and Matthew Barton, WHOI mulitimedia coordinator, drive in for a close up of the Alvin submersible in April 2008 during deployment operations off of San Diego. Barton collected new video of the venerable submarine, some of which will be used in the new Oceans Hall at the Smithsonian.
