Well Anchored

This May, WHOI buoy technicians deployed their 1,200th mooring, the most recent coming in the North Atlantic as part of the Line W array. Since 1960, the WHOI Buoy Group and its descendants—the Subsurface Mooring Operations Group and the Upper Ocean Processes Group—have set up, maintained, and recovered moorings all over the world (each one marked with a sequential number).  Standing from left to right on the working deck of RV Oceanus are Brian Hogue, Scott Worrilow, John Toole, Beatriz Pena-Molino, Dan Torres, Dave Wellwood, and Daniel Bogorff. Worrilow has been part of the buoy group for more than three decades.
