PEANUT BUTTER CLUB: Storm That Drowned a City

August 16, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Presents the video “Storm That Drowned a City” on Friday, August 16, at noon, in Redfield Auditorium, 45 Water St., Woods Hole. In less than 12 hours on August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the Louisiana coast, leading to more than a thousand deaths and transforming a city of over one million into an uninhabitable swamp. NOVA investigates the science of Hurricane Katrina, combining a penetrating analysis of what went wrong with a dramatic, minute-by-minute unfolding of events told through eyewitness testimony. Sponsored by the WHOI Visitor Center. Coffee, tea, and cookies served. Donations accepted.
