Nationally recognized comedian, commentator, producer, and activist Jimmy Tingle’s new documentary, Jimmy Tingle: The “Radical” Middle—Why Would a Comedian Run for Office? will kick-off the Woods Hole Film Festival 2024/25 “Dinner & A Movie” series followed by a seriously funny talkback and comedy with Tingle. The evening is part of Tingle’s “Humor for Humanity Whistle Stop Tour” featuring screenings and talkbacks across New England, inspired by this year’s presidential election. Dinner & A Movie is a program of the Winter/Spring Film Series, twice-monthly in-person screenings of independent films from October 2024 through June 2025. The screenings will be held in the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Redfield Auditorium, located at 45 Water Street, Woods Hole. The film begins at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $20, $16 for members and $10 student/military $10. Tickets are on sale in advance at www.woodsholefilmfestival.org and at the door if they are not sold out in advance. Before the screening ticket holders may receive a discount on the meal portion of dinner at the Captain Kidd Restaurant and Bar, 77 Water Street, Woods Hole and Quahog Republic Leeside Pub, 29 Railroad Ave, Woods Hole.
