Floating Snack Bar

Trailed by gulls hoping for a quick snack, the fishing boat Decisive heads for harbor at Chatham, Mass. Scientists at WHOI’s Marine Policy Center and Woods Hole Sea Grant are monitoring declines in wild fisheries and helping fishermen and communities develop aquaculture—fish farming—as a way to produce seafood. In 2011, WHOI research specialist Hauke Kite-Powell organized a Morss Colloquium to address economic, nutritional, and ecological aspects of commercial fisheries and aquaculture.
