HOV Alvin project manager Susan Humphris spoke to members of WHOI’s Board of Trustees in 2014 in front of the newly refurbished submersible on board R/V Atlantis. On August 9, the public will have a chance to see Alvin up close as part of the Woods Hole Science Stroll, a free event hosted by six local scientific institutions. Visitors will also be able to tour the NOAA ship Bigelow, see a host of other ocean robots up close, explore science displays, animal touch tanks, and participate in hands-on activities all along Water St. in Woods Hole.
