Summer Science

In the depths of winter, it’s nice to remember when undergraduates from around the world come to Woods Hole for a summer of science by the sea. Students learn about ocean science and conduct research with WHOI scientists in the WHOI Summer Student Fellowship program. Here, instructor Hovey Clifford (left) guides Filip Buksa from the University of Split, Croatia, and Caterina Brighi from Imperial College, London, as they deploy a sediment sampler from WHOI’s research vessel Tioga.
