Maya Yamato (left), a student in the MIT/WHOI Joint Program, talks with guests in the Computerized Scanning and Imaging Facility on the Quissett campus. The guests were among a group of women from Middle Eastern countries who visited WHOI in October 2011 as part of the Women’s Innovations in Science and Engineering program hosted by WorldBoston. They included prominent researchers, physicians, and officials in government scientific agencies.
