Postdoctoral Fellow Xuan Shan

Xuan Shan, Postdoctoral Fellow, joins WHOI’s PO Department.  Xuan earned her PhD from Ocean University of China, College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences.  Xuan’s research interests are mesoscale motions in the ocean and atmosphere, AMOC, air-sea interactions especially in WBCs.  She is currently working with Michael Spall on AMOC dynamics at midlatitude using numerical models. Xuan used to study impacts of mesoscale air-sea inetaction on the ocean and is still interested in multiscale air-sea interactions and looking for new things to do.  Xuan’s personal interests are travel, learning languages, playing instruments, hiking, writing and art.
