The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death February 13, 2001, of retiree Thomas Lyon in Littleton, NH, after a long illness. He was 73.

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death January 31, 2001, of retiree William G. “Gerry” Metcalf of Falmouth at age 82. Gerry worked at the Institution in the Physical Oceanography Department from 1945 until his retirement as an Associate Scientist in 1979. Following his retirement he was appointed Scientist Emeritus.
