Report of
Ann Bodio, student technician, sixth week of work, July 15-19,
2002.
"After I cleaned the 'elephant' bag (the
elephant bag is extremely stinky and no fun at all to clean!)
I cleaned some sieves and buckets with the iodine solution."
"..Enid came down from the office and we got started on my
project with the scallops and adhesives...we scrubbed the
scallops one at a time..I (got) a piece of wax paper and laid
it flat on the table, placing the netting on top. Next I blotted
the animals with paper (towels) and one at a time attached
it to netting with bone cement. 11:42 all the animals are
attached. 11:56 put the animals back in the water. This is
our second time trying this...during the winter the scallops
don't grow much and the rings on scallops determine age."
"My friend(s) Shayna and Kristen came
over to the hatchery ... I showed ...them the hatchery...When
I arrived (back) in Woods Hole I met Kevin from the Marine
Biological Laboratory to give him a sample of oysters. I was
hoping they were okay during that time in the cooler and (that)
they didn't die."
