Ceramicrete
Assistance
provided by Ann Bodio, student technician.
Nine
live scallop shells were affixed to plastic netting. The animals
were out of water for about 45 minutes because the first batch
of Ceramicrete was too thin and additional Ceramicrete powder
was added. The shells had been patted dry with paper towels.
After a thickened paste was affixed to the shells and netting
and dried on the bench top in air, the animals were returned
to a saltwater tank. A half hour later, all nine animals were
still attached.
